The Miss Vietnam DC organization is a local community pageant for young, Vietnamese-American women in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. Up until 2015, it was held outdoors in the parking lot of Eden Center, a strip mall located in Falls Church, VA. The 2015 organizers approached me and asked if I could elevate their brand and local community to appeal to a more modern, mainstream audience.
As creative director and producer of this pageant, I personally conceptualized and produced all the branding, marketing, sponsorship materials, photography/video, theme and story of the show for 3 Years. After the first year, they were able to get sponsorship from Horseshoe Casino Baltimore where they moved into a classy Casino Ballroom with legit sound, stage and lighting.
My inspiration and influences for the creative direction comes from my love for Comic Books, James Bond and Ninjas.
